Standard Rubdowns (Dry Transfers)

Dry Transfers have been used in the industry for many years, from producing prototype packaging to applying decals to models and glasses.

They are one of only a very few solutions to producing perfect PANTONE colours. All of the standard coated, flourescent, pastel and metallic colours from the PANTONE colour guides can be produced with both matt and gloss finishes. We also produce clear gloss varnish and frosted effect dry transfers.

Foil Dry Transfers

We have a selection of "Standard" Foils which we always keep on our shelves, and can mix a foil version of most colours in the PANTONE colour guides. Foil colours have a reflective sheen and are used extensively in the mockup of book sleeves. (Obviously we cannot replicate foil colours on the web, so these swatches are for guide purposes only.)

By using our standard foils, we can mix colours to produce close to (or exact) matches to Luxor or API Foils.

Mirror Foil Dry Transfers

We also Produce some "Mirror Foils" which have a much more polished look to them and feel more reflective, however these cannot be mixed to produce other colours. (Obviously we cannot replicate foil colours on the web, so these swatches are for guide purposes only.)

4 Colour Sets

We can produce 4 colour dry transfers, in either gloss or matt, but these require an extra bit of artworking. Behind the image to be produced as a dry transfer, we require a mask in a solid spot colour, covering the entire area covered by the image. This mask will usually be in either White, Clear, or Silver Foil. White makes the image more opaque, Clear allows any background to show through behind the image, and Silver Foil is used to produce a metallic picture. Silver Foil backed dry transfers MUST be gloss.

Prices

Prices are fairly straightforward. You need a negative for each artwork, which we keep on file for 6 months, then you just need to specify which colours you need from that artwork. All of our prices exclude VAT.

Example: you need 3 A4 White Matt Dry Transfers, and a Silver Foil from the same artwork.

Burnisher

We can now supply Metal Burnishers for application of your Dry Transfers ( a lot easier than using a pencil ! )

Artwork

Artwork should be saved as Illustrator files, with any fonts outlined, and produced in a spot colour, or solid black in CMYK. Other file formats can be accepted, but please do call first.

Timing & Delivery

Artworks received before 2pm, will be turned around and delivered by mid-day the next working day. Delivery charge : £8.50
Artworks received after 2pm, will be turned around and delivered the next working day. Delivery charge : £16 to London customers only.
Non London Customers with late artworks (post 2pm), please call for timings on delivery.
